Bright Young Things Drama is extending its popular Summer Camp programme to 12 locations for Summer 2017, thanks to the growing demand for quality summer activities for busy working parents, giving local children the opportunity to learn and develop key interpersonal skills through drama. Eight long weeks of summer holidays can be hard to fill for active and restless children, with the dreaded “I’m bored” creeping in from about week 2. With the number of households with two working parents on the increase, enrolling children in summer schools and activities not only keeps them busy but develops their skills and talents.

Explaining more about the power of drama for all aspects of a child’s life, BYT Founder and Artistic Director Lisa Duffy explains “At BYT we often talk about the hidden vegetables approach to our unique drama classes, and this has led to our BYT parents warmly coining the phrase ‘The BYT Effect’.
“Our parents have the confidence that while their children are having an outrageous amount of fun in the summer, every game, every activity, every technique we use in Bright Young Things, is based on theory and research and is designed to develop child’s life skills and emotional intelligence, to build their confidence, communication and creativity, whether that is for the stage or the boardroom. Those are the hidden vegetables”.
BYT’s theme for summer is Disney’s critically acclaimed animation, Inside Out, which juniors will explore through drama, games, music & song, roleplay, dance, storytelling, costume and mask making, all wrapped up with a big helping of BYT fun.
BYT Seniors will learn about acting from the professionals and make new friends who love the same things they do. They will explore animation, character development, improvisation, games, dance, music and script-writing.
