Bright Young Things is on a mission to fundraise for our charity partner Cancer Fund for Children throughout 2018, By Children, For Children.

Bright Young Things have announced 3 fundraising campaigns.

  1. We have commissioned an original song by the renowned singer/songwriter Katie Richardson, called Step by Step. Its sentiment is that no matter what life throws at us with we can get through it together,  step by step.  Our byts have been learning the song in their weekly classes and on 28th January 2018 hundreds of bright young things from across Northern Ireland came together with Katie Richardson to professionally record the single at the famous Half Bap Studios Belfast. The unforgettable day included a huge BYT Singalong of the song on the steps of St Anne’s Cathedral.

The song will be released via iTunes on 1st March and all sales from downloads will go to our wonderful charity Cancer Fund for Children. We believe passionately in giving back, and encouraging our byts to do the same. We feel that the process of fundraising gives us an opportunity to express both our creative sides, as well as the wonderful life skills that the process of giving and gaining a better understanding about those facing challenging times will give our bright young things.

2. Host the first BYT Children’s Festival of Creativity at Rockport School on Saturday 24th March, 2018. All Bright Young Things will take to the stage for their own class performances and we will also be hosting a range of creative games and activities throughout the day for the wider BYT family and friends to enjoy. All ticket revenue will go directly to Cancer Fund for Children, so we are encouraging the whole community to come along and enjoy the day for a wonderful cause.

3. Each of our BYTs will take on their own fundraising mission, unleashing their full creativity at school and at home to encourage their friends and family to sponsor them all in the name of Cancer Fund for Children.

The BYT Charity Single Step by Step will be released to download via this website at a price of £3.50* on 1st March.

All funds will go directly to Cancer Fund for Children.
