Pressing pause as new Bright Young Things are born!

Hi there folks,

Many thanks for stopping by Bright Young Things Website. Our classes are closed right now and here’s why.

After a couple of years of dedicating myself to my own little bright young things and embracing the full rollercoaster of motherhood, I needed to press the pause button on my first baby, Bright Young Things Drama.

Now as ease myself back into working life, whilst juggling the drama of babies and toddler life, I will be exploring my other creative itches, projects and collaborations within the arts sector for the next wee while. And so BYT’s doors remain closed at the moment. Much as I miss it!

All of the BYT Team will really miss our weekly classes nurturing confidence, communication and creativity in so many bright young things from across Northern Ireland.

Personally, BYT has been my baby for the last 11 years and I have thrown all my energy into making it the most authentic and valuable experience possible for every child, parent and team member who has joined the BYT family. I believe so strongly that children deserve to feel full of imagination and self belief, however now it’s time for the new babies in my life to get all of my attention for just a wee while.

We will most certainly be back but for now, we are pressing pause on our regular classes. We will however hold one-off sessions from time to time so keep an eye on our social media.

Thank you truly to everyone who has been involved in BYT. We have always had such a caring and loyal community and I can’t wait to see you all again next year for more adventures.

Drama and confidence building for children and teens.

“BYT is very different from many things to do for children near me, for so many reasons. It’s about the journey towards a genuine love of theatre and film, not a “jazz hands” approach to performance. The staff at BYT are what make it so special, and the kids really look up to them.”

“Supporting drama for young people is close to my heart.

I loved my time growing up in Northern Ireland doing youth drama, that is where it all began for me. I am delighted becoming a patron for BYT. It’s wonderful to be part of a dynamic organisation committed to fostering confidence, communication and creative expression in our young people.”

By Children. For Children.

Over 200 children from across Northern Ireland who attend Bright Young Things recorded their charity single, Step by Step to convey their ethos of empowering young people with resilience and self-belief and letting them know that its okay not to be okay.

As well as recording the track, BYT produced The festive of Creativity and over 800 people attended. Together we raised over £10 000 and all revenue went directly to Bright young thing's chosen charity, Cancer Fund for Children. Step by Step was written by Katie Richardson and recorded at Half Bap Studios in Belfast.
