December is upon us and the countdown to Christmas has officially begun! Across the world, Santa’s elves are busying themselves with wrapping paper and ribbon in preparation for the big day. But what if there was an exciting one-of-a-kind gift that didn’t need wrapped? Not only that, a gift that would bring life-changing benefits to be enjoyed for years to come. We think the gift of creativity, in the shape of 5 jam-packed weeks of drama at BYT would be the perfect present- and we aren’t the only ones!
Mummy Blogger Katie, the ‘Wellness Mama’ recently urged her followers to consider a more creative approach to gift giving this year. She lists empowering your child with a new hobby or skill by enrolling them in a class as an essential part of personal development, leading to a stronger sense of identity and security for children.
She quotes Professor of Psychology Thomas Gilovich as saying “Our experiences are a bigger part of ourselves than our material goods. You can really like your material stuff. You can even think that part of your identity is connected to those things, but nonetheless they remain separate from you. In contrast, your experiences really are part of you. We are the sum total of our experiences.”
Our byts are built of strong stuff: a sum total of confidence, communication and creativity!
